ISRO has announced a one day ISRO free online course called “Water Quality Studies using Hyperspectral Remote Sensing for the Indian Coastal and Inland Waters” for interested students and professionals. The course will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) involved in the field of remote sensing and geoinformatics. After completion of the workshop participants will be familiarized with different applications of geospatial technology in mapping water quality parameters and will also get to know the future of this field of study, says the institute.
What the ISRO Free Online Course Will Cover?
The course aims at giving participants an overview of applications of hyperspectral remote sensing technology for various water quality studies. Some of the topics that will be covered are as follows:
- Basics of hyperspectral remote sensing.
- Processing of hyperspectral remote sensing data.
- Coastal water quality mapping using hyperspectral remote sensing data.
- Inland water quality mapping using hyperspectral remote sensing data.
- Overview of Water Body Information System (Bhuvan NRSC).
