IAS LK Atheeq posted as Additional Chief Secretary to Karnataka’s CM

Bangalore: Senior IAS LK Atheeq , from the 1991 batch, was recently appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to Kanata’s Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah. The state government mandated Ateeq’s appointment recently, through an order.

At state level, IAS LK Atheeq has previously worked as the District Magistrate in two districts, Chief Executive Officer CEO of a Zilla Panchayat, Director of Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation and State Project Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Education for All Campaign). He has also worked as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

At the national level he has served as a Director in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), and at an international level, he has worked on the Board of Washington DC’s World Bank Group, as a representative of India.

He is replacing IAS officer Rajesh Goel, from the 1996 batch, who has been appointed the 40th Chief Secretary of Karnataka. Ateeq also holds responsibility of the Finance Department, as he was appointed the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department earlier this year.
