Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka and Games24x7, India’s online skill gaming sector, have formed a partnership to introduce ‘GameTech Accelerate – The Future of Gaming.’ Unveiled during the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023, this unique accelerator program aims to stimulate innovation and propel growth in the online gaming industry.
The initiative, backed by Priyank Kharge, Minister for Information Technology & Biotechnology and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka, aligns with the state’s commitment to fostering a robust technology startup ecosystem.
Kharge said the collaboration seeks to support an industry that not only creates job opportunities but also fosters innovation, making substantial contributions to the digital economy.
Rajat Bansal, Chief Technology Officer at Games24x7, said that in collaboration with AWS, the accelerator program aims to provide winners with mentorship, accolades, and direct access to potential investors.
The accelerator program is centred around four key themes – New Games (Real Money, Casual, Hyper Casual, Educational, Simulation, Strategy, and MMO), Real-Time Analytics, Telemetry & Personalisation, Security and Anti-Cheating Measures, and Community and Social Integration. It addresses core challenges and opportunities in the gaming industry.
Following the accelerator program, selected startups will benefit from mentoring sessions, featuring guidance from Games24x7 and AWS experts, along with AWS credits. The program will conclude with an exclusive investor session in the first week of March.
