New Delhi: The Cabinet Appointments Committee has approved the extension of IAS officer Darpan Jain’s central deputation tenure following a recommendation from the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
A 2001-batch officer from the Karnataka cadre, Jain will continue serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce (DoC) for an additional two years beyond February 19, 2024, or until further notifications, as announced on February 14.
Jain holds a degree in M.Tech in Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi, and also attained a Master’s degree in Science from London School of Economics & Political Science, London.
