New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate NTPC’s 300 megawatt (MW) Nokhra Solar Project, according to an official statement. Spread across 1,550 acres in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, the project is being developed by NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) under the CPSU Scheme (Phase-II), with an investment of Rs 1,803 crore, aimed at supplying green power to Telangana.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project of NTPC Green Energy Limited to the nation through video-conferencing on February 16, 2024,” the statement confirmed.
Upon completion, the project will produce 730 million units (MU) of green energy annually, reaching over 1.3 lakh households while curbing 6 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year. Over its projected 25-year lifespan, the initiative will offset CO2 emissions by 15 million tonnes.
