New Delhi: The central government has appointed Ashok Kumar Singh as the Director General of Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. He has been posted in the New Delhi Headquarters of the corporation.
Singh is an IAS Officer of the 1999 batch belonging to the Kerala cadre. He has diverse experience in governance and management of District and State level organizations. He has previously served as the Principal Secretary in the Water Resources Department, Government of Kerala. In addition, he has worked in several positions at the central level. He was posted as the Executive Director of the National Mission for Clean Ganga, as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, and as Director of the Ministry of Finance.
Singh holds an M.Phil from the National Defence College in New Delhi. He has done his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
