New Delhi: The Ministry of Education has issued a mandate to all states and Union Territories, requiring the immediate implementation of comprehensive school safety measures across all educational institutions. This directive is aimed at strengthening the safety protocols in schools to protect students from various risks.
The guidelines call for the installation of security infrastructure such as CCTV cameras, the regular conduct of safety audits, and the training of school staff in emergency response procedures. Additionally, they stress the importance of fostering a secure psychological environment, urging schools to implement mental health programs and appoint counselors to support students’ well-being.
States have been asked to submit detailed plans outlining their strategies for enforcing these safety measures. The Ministry’s directive highlights the urgency of creating safer educational environments across the country, ensuring that schools are well-equipped to protect their students both physically and emotionally.
