New Delhi: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has officially launched the All India Initiative on Creative Economy (AIICE) in New Delhi. This initiative is a major effort to advance India’s creative industries, which are currently valued at $30 billion.
The launch event featured distinguished guests, including Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, who highlighted the growing global importance of the creative economy, which supports nearly 50 million jobs worldwide.
The initiative seeks to:
- Define and map the creative industries in India
- Establish a dedicated institution to explore and harness the sector’s untapped potential
Over the past year, the sector has seen a 20% increase in exports, generating more than $11 billion. AIICE aims to accelerate this growth by tackling critical challenges such as funding, copyright issues, and support for MSMEs and local artisans. With AIICE, the ICC aims to elevate India’s position on the global stage, encouraging collaboration among stakeholders across various sectors to drive innovation, shape policies, and support the future growth of India’s creative economy.
