Bangalore: SEMI has officially announced SEMICON India 2024, the first-ever Indian edition of its semiconductor event. The event, in collaboration with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), will be held from September 11-13, 2024, at the India Exposition Mart in Greater Noida.
This event will focus on the key drivers of the semiconductor industry, including smart manufacturing, supply chain management, sustainability, and workforce development. It comes at a pivotal time, as India’s semiconductor sector is expected to play a major role in the global industry, projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030.
Ajit Manocha, SEMI President, and CEO emphasized that the event will accelerate India’s progress in the semiconductor ecosystem, building on its strong base in IC design and growing investments in manufacturing. The event will feature over 250 exhibitors and 650 booths.
The opening ceremony, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will include keynotes from industry leaders such as NXP, Foxconn, and Tata Electronics, highlighting India’s growing capabilities in semiconductor production. SEMICON India 2024 aims to be a catalyst for India’s semiconductor ambitions on the global stage.
