New Delhi: The government has launched a new app aimed at making it easier for rice millers to resolve complaints with the Food Corporation of India (FCI). The FCI Grievance Redressal System (GRS), introduced by Union Food Minister Pralhad Joshi, gives millers a simpler way to report issues, track complaint status, and get updates on their phones.
Available on the Google Play Store, the app allows rice millers to register complaints directly and get a unique grievance ID for each case. Millers can track these complaints in real time and communicate directly with FCI, cutting down delays. If needed, FCI’s Quick Response Team can visit sites to look into issues, verified through a geo-fencing tool that logs team visits.
Part of the government’s Digital India push, this app is designed to add transparency and improve the FCI’s service to millers, who play a key role in ensuring food security. The new app is expected to make complaint processes smoother and strengthen ties between millers and the FCI, bringing more accountability to food grain operations.
