New Delhi, May 1 (APAC Media): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on April 30 introduced the Parenting Calendar 2026–27 with a renewed focus on strengthening engagement between schools and parents.
The calendar focuses on fostering students’ emotional, social, and academic growth through teacher-led activities and psychosocial support initiatives.
The initiative also seeks to help parents navigate through challenges which emerge in a rapidly changing landscape, such as the impact of technology on education and the need for effective communication between parents and teachers.
“By fostering a strong and collaborative partnership between parents and educators, the Parenting Calendar aims to cultivate a supportive ecosystem that nurtures students’ academic progress, emotional resilience, and social well-being,” CBSE said in statement.
The Parenting Calendar is aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). It includes various sections which focus on promoting awareness and equitable practices for students from diverse backgrounds while also helping parents and students cope with shifts in the curriculum academic expectations.
The board mentioned that the calendar is designed to encourage meaningful parent-child interaction and further strengthen the partnership between schools and families. The calendar will also serve as a practical guide for parents to support the overall development and well-being of their children.
The Parenting Calendar was launched in the presence of school principals, teachers, counsellors, wellness educators, and parents who participated in discussions on its implementation and objectives.
The calendar is now available on the official CBSE website.
CBSE has also urged affiliated schools and stakeholders to actively implement the initiative and help create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for students.
