Chandigarh: The Government of Haryana has appointed senior IAS officer Arun Gupta as the Principal Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). A 1992 batch IAS officer from the Haryana cadre, Gupta previously held the position of Additional Chief Secretary in the Town and Country Planning and Industries and Commerce Departments. The announcement was made through an order issued by Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi.
In related developments, Saket Kumar, currently Managing Director of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), has been designated as the Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (APSCM). Meanwhile, Amit Kumar Agarwal, previously APSCM, will take over as Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, and Managing Director, Haryana Vidyut Prasharan Nigam (HVPN). Another APSCM, Ashima Brar, has been reassigned as Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Antyodaya (SEWA) Department.
Yash Pal, presently serving as Director, Urban Local Bodies, has been appointed Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (DPSCM). These strategic appointments underscore the government’s focus on optimizing administrative functions in key departments while ensuring effective leadership within the CMO to meet governance objectives.
