New Delhi: Ramanathan Rajamani has been reappointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS). This marks his second tenure in the role, following a previous stint from 2018 to 2021.
With over 20 years of experience in aviation and ground operations, Rajamani’s leadership comes at a critical juncture as India’s aviation and cargo handling sectors experience rapid growth. During his earlier tenure at AISATS, Rajamani focused on operational efficiency and service innovation, areas he is expected to prioritize again.
Before rejoining AISATS, Rajamani served in senior roles at SATS Ltd, including CEO of SATS Security Services and Head of Projects & New Services Delivery. His contributions in these roles included securing Singapore’s National Productivity Award for a SATS subsidiary, reflecting his focus on improving operational standards and team productivity.
Rajamani’s career began in Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency, where he worked on ensuring the reliability of fighter jets for the Republic of Singapore Air Force. His experience spans both military and commercial aviation operations, making him a versatile leader equipped to tackle complex challenges.
Holding degrees in Engineering and Logistics, along with an Executive MBA, Rajamani brings a multidisciplinary approach to his leadership style. At AISATS, he is expected to focus on driving innovation, improving service delivery, and strengthening the company’s position in India’s competitive aviation services market.
AISATS, a joint venture between Air India and SATS Ltd, manages ground handling and cargo operations at several major airports in India. Rajamani’s return comes at a time when the sector is preparing for increased passenger and cargo volumes, necessitating greater efficiency and technological advancement.
His appointment signals AISATS’ intent to enhance its operational capabilities as the company navigates the evolving demands of India’s aviation landscape.
