Jammu: In a recent administrative overhaul, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a minor reshuffle involving the transfer and appointment of four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one Jammu & Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer. This reshuffle, detailed in an official notification by the General Administration Department (GAD), aims to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure effective governance across key departments in the Union Territory.
Among the key appointments, IAS officer Nidhi Malik (2013 batch) of the AGMUT cadre has been named the new Deputy Commissioner of Reasi. Malik, who was awaiting her posting orders before this, brings a wealth of experience to the position.

IAS Rupesh Kumar (2019 batch), also awaiting orders, has been appointed as the Director of Social Welfare in Jammu. His new role is expected to bring fresh perspectives to welfare programs in the region.

Another significant transfer involves IAS Shahzad Alam (2019 batch), who has been posted as Director of Employment in J&K. Alam replaces JKAS officer Nisar Ahmed Wan, who has been directed to report to the GAD for further posting. In addition to his new role, Alam will concurrently serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mission Youth, and Mission Director of Mission YUVA, until further orders.

Meanwhile, JKAS officer Vishesh Paul Mahajan, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Reasi, has been appointed as Director of Tourism in Jammu.
