New Delhi: In a recent move aimed at strengthening leadership in central paramilitary forces, the Union Government has announced the transfer and posting of three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The changes are part of a broader strategy to enhance operational efficiency and bolster security management across the nation.
As per the official order, IPS officer Anupama Nilekar Chandra, a 1994 batch officer of the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as Additional Director General (ADG) of SSB. Her tenure will extend until February 23, 2025, or further orders, whichever is earlier. Prior to this appointment, Chandra was serving as the ADG of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), where she contributed significantly to advancing police research and training methodologies.
Another appointment involves IPS Saroj Kumar Thakur, a 2010 batch officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, who has been assigned as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in SSB for a five-year tenure. Thakur’s leadership and operational expertise are expected to bring strategic value to the organization.
Similarly, IPS Rajendra Narayan Das, a 2006 batch officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been appointed as DIG in CRPF for a five-year tenure. Das’s vast experience in tackling internal security challenges will be instrumental in strengthening CRPF operations.
These strategic postings highlight the government’s commitment to ensuring capable leadership in critical paramilitary forces, vital for maintaining internal security and border management.
