Chennai: In a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has announced the transfer and fresh postings of three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new roles. The move, announced through an official notification, aims to fill key vacancies and streamline administrative operations. Among the key transfers, IPS S. Vijayakumar has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli, filling the existing vacancy. Known for his proactive approach to policing, his posting is expected to bolster law enforcement in Tirunelveli.
Meanwhile, IPS Vishwesh Balasubramaniam Shastri, currently serving as the Superintendent of Police in Chennai, has been transferred to the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, North, Greater Chennai Police. He replaces IPS P. Kumar, who has been reassigned.
IPS P. Kumar, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, North, has been transferred to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, South. This transfer fills an existing vacancy and is expected to improve traffic management in the southern parts of Greater Chennai.
