Chamba: The National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC), in partnership with the Samphia Foundation, inaugurated a Mobile Therapy Van in Chamba district (Himachal Pradesh) to provide free therapy services to specially-abled children in remote areas of the district. The initiative, which is part of NHPC’s Chamera-II project, was launched with a flag-off ceremony led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Priyanshu Khati.
The mobile therapy bus aims to address the challenges faced by specially-abled children who struggle to access essential therapeutic care. While facilities such as the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College in Chamba offer therapy services, many children in remote areas remain underserved due to geographical and logistical barriers.
Speaking at the event, SDM Khati highlighted the transformative potential of the initiative. He noted that the mobile therapy van would bridge the accessibility gap, bringing much-needed support to vulnerable communities and empowering specially-abled children to lead more fulfilling lives.
APAC News Analysis:
The Mobile Therapy Van initiative reflects a forward-thinking approach to addressing systemic challenges in rural healthcare delivery. By leveraging mobility, the program ensures that therapy services reach the most vulnerable populations, often excluded from mainstream healthcare infrastructure. This model not only reduces inequities but also sets a precedent for similar initiatives in other regions, demonstrating the power of public-private partnerships in transforming lives at the grassroots level.
