New Delhi: Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has appointed Anckur Anil Kanwar as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective February 1, 2025. He replaces Ramandeep Singh Sahni, who has moved to Bajaj Finserv Limited as CFO.
Kanwar brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, spanning finance, reinsurance, and underwriting. Before joining Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, he was the Deputy CFO at ICICI Lombard, where he held multiple leadership roles. A Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Kanwar has expertise in financial strategy and governance.
In his new role, he will oversee financial operations at both the company and business vertical levels. He will also be responsible for providing strategic insights to drive financial performance and efficiency. Kanwar’s appointment comes as Bajaj Allianz General Insurance navigates a competitive insurance market, where financial governance and strategic planning are critical. The company, a joint venture between Bajaj Finserv and Allianz SE, has been expanding its reach across India, offering a range of general insurance products.
With a presence in nearly 1,500 towns and cities, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance holds an [ICRA]AAA rating, indicating strong financial stability. Kanwar’s leadership will play a key role in maintaining financial discipline and growth strategies for the company. His appointment reflects an industry-wide trend of experienced finance leaders taking on key roles as companies focus on financial risk management and strategic decision-making in an evolving regulatory environment.
