New Delhi: Mrithinjai Srikanthan, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS-C&IT) officer from the 2013 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance. His selection for central deputation was confirmed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in an order issued on February 18, 2025. The order also directs that he be relieved of his current duties immediately so that he can take charge of his new assignment without delay.

He was recommended for this role by the Department of Revenue. As Deputy Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Srikanthan will play a key role in financial planning and policy implementation within the government. His appointment is part of the broader administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance in financial management.
