New Delhi: Celebrating its 30-year milestone, Mappls MapmyIndia, a leading digital maps, IoT, and deep-tech company, has unveiled a special initiative—Indic language maps and navigation support in nine regional languages. This feature is now available on its flagship Mappls App, accessible to more than 30 million users.
The launch event, held at the India International Center, New Delhi, was graced by Surveyor General of India, IAS Hitesh Kumar S. Makwana. With this initiative, Mappls aims to make digital maps and navigation more accessible to Indians in their native languages.
Seamless Navigation in 9 Indian Languages
Users of the Mappls App can now experience maps, search, turn-by-turn navigation, and voice guidance in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, and Gujarati.
Unlike many other services that restrict regional language support to specific states, Mappls ensures that all nine languages are available across the entire country. This means a user from Maharashtra can navigate in Marathi even while traveling in Tamil Nadu or Punjab.
Other Innovative Features of MappIs App
This unprecedented feature is part of a series of homegrown innovations that have propelled the growth of the Mappls App. Other popular features include:
-
Junction Views: 3D mode guidance around flyovers for safer navigation

-
Speed Breaker Warnings: Enhancing road safety
-
Trip Cost Estimates: Helping users budget travel expenses
-
Mappls Pin: Accurate, easy-to-share digital location codes
Exclusive Feature for iOS Users in India
With this launch, Mappls App becomes the only navigation platform on iOS to offer maps, search, and turn-by-turn guidance in nine Indic languages—a feature unavailable on other map apps, including global players.
A Step Towards Digital Inclusivity
By integrating Indic language support, MapmyIndia takes a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in navigation technology. With a user-friendly, Indian-first approach, the Mappls App ensures that every Indian—regardless of their native language—can travel with ease, comfort, and confidence.
