Delhi: Swiggy, in collaboration with the Delhi Traffic Police, organized a Road Safety Awareness Session and Bike Rally at Chilla Border, Noida Link Road. The initiative, conducted under Swiggy’s ‘Delivering Safely’ road safety charter, aimed to promote responsible driving among delivery partners. The event was part of Delhi Police Week, which is being observed from February 16-22, 2025.
Encouraging Safe Driving Habits
As part of the initiative, delivery partners took part in an interactive session designed to encourage safer and more proactive driving habits. The training emphasized adherence to traffic regulations, responsible route planning, and reducing risky behaviors while on the road. Following the session, a bike rally was conducted to reinforce the importance of road safety through active participation.
The initiative was led by DCP Eastern Range Traffic, IPS Rajeev Kumar, ACP Traffic East District, Dinesh Kumar, and Inspector Devendra Tomar, TI Mayur Vihar, along with other senior traffic officials.
Ensuring Road Safety for Delivery Executives
The Delhi Traffic Police emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility between citizens and law enforcement authorities. Awareness programs like these help create a culture of responsible driving by informing delivery partners about traffic rules, penalties for violations, and the importance of following regulations. Such initiatives aim to reduce accidents and enhance overall road safety, ensuring that delivery partners can perform their duties without compromising their well-being.
Helmet Distribution for Road Safety
In addition to organising the session, Swiggy distributed 110 helmets to delivery executives and police officials, further reinforcing the importance of protective gear and accident prevention.
Ongoing Road Safety Efforts by Swiggy
Swiggy has conducted similar road safety drives in multiple cities across India as part of its commitment to ensuring a safe working environment for its delivery fleet. The platform provides all delivery partners with insurance coverage for protection on the road.
Additionally, every delivery partner undergoes a safety guidance module during onboarding, and Swiggy continues to conduct safety campaigns throughout the year, offering continuous support and training.
