Kalahandi: The Odisha government has launched the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana in the backward Kalahandi district to benefit 50,000 underprivileged citizens.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed the necessary work orders to around 50,000 beneficiaries at a public function at the Srikrushna Nagar Risigaon field near Bhawanipatna.
The Odisha government has allocated Rs 7,550 crore over three years for this scheme, which will benefit financially vulnerable citizens, disabled individuals and widows, among others.
The financial benefits of the scheme will be transferred directly to the beneficiary accounts through the DBT process. The Kalahandi project, therefore aligns with the State Government vision of Bikashita Gaon, Bikashita Odisha.
The scheme aims to ensure pucca and properly constructed houses for all citizens and thus improve their social status.
