New Delhi: Sanjiv Kumar Singh has officially taken charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL). He will serve in the role until the date of his superannuation, which is 30 June 2026.
SK Singh is currently serving as the Director (Mining) at the organisation. He was chosen by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) on 12 December 2024, for the post.
HCL is a central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
It is the only vertically integrated government-owned copper producer in the country engaged in a wide spectrum of activities ranging from mining, beneficiation, smelting, refining and continuous cast rod manufacturing.
HCL was established in 1967 to acquire the Khetri and Kolihan mines in Rajasthan and the Rakha Copper Project in Jharkhand from the National Mineral Development Corporation.
