Lucknow: In a significant reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred several senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across key positions in the state.
The move aims to enhance law enforcement efficiency and strengthen administrative oversight. Among the notable changes, IPS Dr K Ejilearassane (2004 batch) has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of UP-112, a crucial role overseeing emergency services in the state.
Other key transfers include:
IPS Aditya Mishra has been appointed as Director General of Fire Services.
IPS Manoj Sonkar has been assigned the role of IG Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) Varanasi, a significant position in the state’s law enforcement framework.
IPS Shagun Gautam has been posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Police Training College (PTC) Sitapur, responsible for policing and training initiatives.
IPS Rajesh Singh has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (CP), Kashi, an important administrative role in Varanasi
IPS Devranjan Verma has become DIG Rule Manual, overseeing police guidelines and implementation
IPS Aparna Gupta has been transferred and posted as SP Headquarters (HQ), managing various police matters at headquarters
IPS Ashish Srivastava has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lucknow, a critical role in maintaining law and order in the state capital
IPS Suraj Rai moved to the position of Commander, Meerut PAC (6th), overseeing the Provincial Armed Constabulary in the region
These transfers reflect the state government’s commitment to optimizing police administration and ensuring effective law enforcement across Uttar Pradesh.
