Kolkata: The West Bengal government Unified Project Management System (UPMS) portal is already up and running from 3 April to keep track and obtain status updates on different government projects.
Different departments of the West Bengal government have now started creating committees to ensure speedy updates on this government portal.
The Irrigation and Water Resources Department has created two separate committees for civil engineering and electrical-mechanical engineering. These two committees will check, validate and rectify errors in the UPMS portal created by the Finance Department.
The Civil Wing Committee will be headed by Chief Engineer (Design & Research) and include Superintending Engineer (Investigation and Planning Circle 1), Executive Engineer and the associated Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer.
The other committee is similarly structured and headed by the Chief Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical).
The two chairpersons will give the final approval after taking certificates from the committee members within the stipulated period till 9 April.
Different engineering-based departments have been included in this portal. The Finance Department can now track the progress of all infrastructure and construction projects through one click on this portal.
The PWD, Public Health Technical, the West Zone Development, West Zone Development Agency, Irrigation and Waterways, Water Resources R&D departments and KMDA have provided info on the UPMS portal.
