Bengaluru: Air India SATS Airport Services (AISATS) has launched a logistics park at Bengaluru airport aka Kempegowda International Airport with an investment of Rs 200 crore.
The eight-acre facility will accommodate the increasing air cargo volume at this major airport in Karnataka.
Facility Highlights: Warehousing and Customs Support
The AISATS BLR Logistics Park comprises three key structures:
A two-level warehouse offering over 240,000 sq. ft of Grade A storage space
An 11,000 sq. ft public bonded warehouse
A 24,000 sq. ft office block to accommodate customs house agents and logistics firms
The facility is positioned to serve Bengaluru airport, which manages approximately 40 per cent of South India’s air cargo traffic. In FY25, the airport handled 502,480 metric tonnes of cargo. Authorities aim to scale this figure to one million metric tonnes by 2030.
Strategic Move in AISATS’ Expansion Plan
The Bengaluru park forms part of AISATS’ broader national expansion plan, which includes an upcoming multi-modal cargo hub at Noida International Airport (Jewar). AISATS, a joint venture between Air India and Singapore-based SATS Ltd, has been operating in India since 2008 and has been gradually expanding its logistics infrastructure footprint.
Focus on Sustainable Operations
The new facility incorporates multiple sustainability features, including:
Rainwater harvesting
Natural lighting
Energy-efficient LED lighting
Waste management systems aligned with the reduce-reuse-recycle framework
These features reflect an industry-wide shift toward environmentally conscious logistics infrastructure.
