New Delhi: At the 49th annual Honeywell Users Group event, the company introduced new digital technologies designed to support industries transitioning from traditional automation to more autonomous systems. The announcements come amid growing concerns over operational technology (OT) cybersecurity and the increasing use of AI in critical infrastructure.
The company launched Honeywell Cyber Proactive Defense and the Honeywell OT Security Operations Center; both aimed at protecting industrial systems from cyber threats.
The Cyber Proactive Defense system uses AI and behavioral analytics to detect anomalies by establishing baseline OT operations. It integrates deception technology using decoys to divert attackers and aims to identify and respond to potential threats before they materialize into full-scale attacks.
The OT Security Operations Center offers a 24/7 agentless monitoring service tailored for OT environments. It is designed to detect early warning signs of cyber incidents across industrial operations and includes on-site incident management support. Importantly, the system is vendor-agnostic, allowing it to operate across diverse infrastructure systems.
In addition to cybersecurity tools, Honeywell expanded its Digital Prime ecosystem, now integrating three core services, Solution Enhancement Support Program (SESP), Enabled Services, and Assurance 360 into a unified platform. The updated ecosystem aims to help enterprises simulate engineering projects before implementation, reducing unplanned downtime and improving throughput.
The integration also enables real-time performance tracking and offers insights into system optimization, which could reduce dependency on a shrinking pool of highly skilled technical professionals in the industrial sector.
