Agartala: The Northeastern Frontier Railway has commissioned power supply to the Teliamura and Udaipur railway traction sub-stations.
The plan is to replace diesel-powered trains in Tripura with cleaner, electric alternatives.
The power supply to the Teliamura sub-station in Khowai district was commissioned on 18 August. The Udaipur sub-station in Gomati district was commissioned on 17 August.
According to Tripura State Electricity Corporation (TSECL), this project will support smoother train services and enhance power stability for the surrounding communities.
The traction sub-stations will help cut operational costs, reduce carbon emissions and strengthen Tripura’s transport infrastructure.
