Digha: The Digha Shankarpur Development Authority (DSDA) will spend more than Rs 4 crore in the beautification of Digha before the Pujas.
This will be spent only on the renovation of roads, drains and the entire sewerage system.
The PHE department will undertake all sewerage work for Rs 2 crore.
This will include repair work on Shibalay Ghat Road, Kalyan Kutir Road, Nehru Market Mor Ghat Road and Aparajita Ghat Road in Old Digha for Rs 25 lakh.
In addition, another Rs 30.52 lakh will be spent on the repair and reconstruction of the Picnic Spot to Dheusagar Road, Amravati Park to Bypass Road in New Digha.
DSDA has also called for tenders to complete the road reconstruction and beautification work.
From Digha Thana to Udaipur Border, on both sides of Foreshore Road, there will be fencing at a cost of Rs 31 lakh.
Massive tourist influx is expected in Digha soon for both the sea beaches as well as the Jagannath temple.
