Kolkata: The West Bengal government has formed a core team of 23 IAS officers as observers to monitor development projects across districts properly.
These Secretary-rank IAS officers have been tasked with ensuring that these projects are completed ahead of schedule.
Information and Cultural Affairs Secretary Santanu Basu will oversee schemes in Kolkata; Health Secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam for South 24 Parganas; Panchayat Secretary P Ulganatjsm for Malda; MSME Secretary Rajesh Pandey for Nadia; and Transport Secretary Soumitra Mohan for Kalimpong.
The supervision will work for projects under schemes like Banglar Bari, Pathashree, Rastashree and Amader Para Amader Samadhan programs. They will also address complaints submitted to the helpdesks.
These officers will coordinate with DMs and guide them to ensure projects are completed on time.
The officers will also monitor the grievance redress mechanism and submit reports to the secretariat. They will also suggest how to accelerate the pace of work.
