In a post on X, Naidu said the overwhelming response reflects the growing interest among Andhra Pradesh’s youth in frontier technologies. He noted that the momentum supports the state’s ambition to train one lakh quantum professionals to global standards, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for quantum research, innovation and long-term investments.
The course is offered under the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a Ministry of Education-funded initiative led by the Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science. NPTEL currently offers over 600 certification programmes across emerging and core technology domains.
Naidu said the quantum skilling initiative aligns with the state government’s broader push for future-ready skilling and technology-led economic growth. He also expressed his intention to personally felicitate the gold and silver medallists of the programme.
According to an official release, the Andhra Pradesh government reiterated its commitment to collaborating with leading national and global institutions to develop a strong talent pipeline in emerging technologies, ensuring the state plays a key role in India’s deep-tech transformation.
