New Delhi, June 4(CXO Media): Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro battery details have surfaced through a new leak, showing only a marginal increase in capacity over the current generation.
Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims the iPhone 18 Pro will come in two battery variants depending on region. The China model is said to pack a 4,056mAh battery, while the global version may carry a 4,288mAh unit. This is a slight rise compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, which is reported to have a 3,988mAh battery in China and 4,252mAh in the US.
The difference is reportedly linked to internal layout changes, including the removal of physical SIM trays in some markets, which gives Apple slightly more space for battery components.
While the battery size increase is minimal, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to focus on efficiency improvements. The device may use Apple’s A20 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. This shift is expected to improve power efficiency compared to the current 3nm-based chips.
Apple is also likely to introduce its in-house C2 modem, replacing Qualcomm components in some models. This change is expected to improve heat management and reduce power consumption during network use.
The iPhone 18 Pro series may also feature LTPO+ AMOLED panels with improved refresh rate control and lower power usage depending on screen activity.
Overall, the leak suggests that battery capacity gains alone will be limited, with Apple instead relying on chipset efficiency, modem design, and display optimization to improve real-world battery life.
