New Delhi, July 14 (APAC Media): AI company Anthropic has launched paid subscription plans for its Claude AI chatbot in India, with prices starting at Rs 1,999 per month. The move marks the company’s expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing AI markets, where it will compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot.
Claude ProÂ
The Claude Pro plan is priced at ₹1,999 per month and offers:
- Higher usage limits than the free version
- Priority access during peak hours
- Access to Anthropic’s latest AI models and advanced features
The subscription is designed for professionals, students, developers and content creators who use AI for writing, coding, research and everyday productivity.
Claude MaxÂ
Anthropic has also introduced the Claude Max plan in two tiers:
- Rs 9,900 per month with around five times the usage limits of Claude Pro
- Rs 19,900 per month with approximately 20 times the Pro usage limits
The Max plans are targeted at developers, researchers and businesses that require extensive AI usage.
Competition in India’s AI Market
With its India pricing, Claude now competes directly with ChatGPT Plus, which is priced at around Rs 2,000 per month, and Google Gemini Advanced.
Anthropic has built a strong reputation for coding, long-form writing and reasoning tasks. The company has also expanded its AI ecosystem with products such as Claude Code for developers and Claude for Work productivity tools.Â
