Noida, July 17 (APAC Media): Smartphone maker Nothing has become India’s fastest-growing smartphone brand during the second quarter of 2026, recording a 105% year-on-year increase in shipments despite an overall slowdown in the country’s smartphone market, according to Counterpoint Research.
The research firm said the company outpaced all major smartphone brands in shipment growth during the April-June quarter, highlighting its continued expansion in one of the world’s largest smartphone markets.
The broader Indian smartphone market, however, declined 10% year-on-year in Q2 2026, marking the weakest June-quarter performance in six years.

Counterpoint attributed the decline to weaker consumer demand, rising component costs and higher average selling prices, which affected shipments across several price segments.
Against this backdrop, Nothing continued to gain market share, supported by a growing product portfolio, expanding offline retail presence and increasing consumer interest in its smartphones. The company has strengthened its position in the mid-range segment through devices marketed under both the Nothing and CMF brands.
According to Counterpoint Research, Nothing’s performance reflects the brand’s ability to attract consumers looking for smartphones that combine distinctive design, a clean software experience and competitive pricing.
The company has also increased its retail footprint across India, improving product availability beyond online sales channels.

India remains one of Nothing’s most important markets, with the company consistently focusing on local expansion through new product launches, wider distribution and community-led marketing initiatives.
The latest shipment figures further underline the company’s steady growth trajectory in the country.
Industry analysts said the results demonstrate that newer smartphone brands can continue to gain market share despite challenging market conditions by focusing on product differentiation and value.
While established smartphone manufacturers continue to dominate overall shipments, Nothing’s rapid growth suggests changing consumer preferences in the premium mid-range segment.
Counterpoint Research noted that the Indian smartphone market continues to face headwinds from inflationary pressures, cautious consumer spending and higher device prices.
However, brands with strong product positioning and effective retail strategies are expected to remain better placed to navigate the softer demand environment.
Nothing’s latest performance reinforces its growing presence in India as it seeks to expand its market share amid intense competition from established smartphone makers.
The company is expected to continue building on its momentum through upcoming product launches and further expansion of its retail network.
