Dehradun, July 9 (APAC Media): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth around Rs. 24 crore for various development projects across the state.Â
The projects span multiple sectors, including public infrastructure, water supply, river restoration, and religious and educational facilities.
The move aims to improve access to clean drinking water, upgrade sewerage systems, modernize laboratories, and promote sustainable environmental conservation.
Major Boost for Water Infrastructure
Several projects have been sanctioned for Haridwar district to improve drinking water and urban infrastructure.
Key approvals include the following:
- Rs. 1.43 crore for the construction of 200 hand pumps in the Bhagwanpur Assembly constituency.
- Rs. 3.16 crore for strengthening the sewerage system in Roorkee.
- Rs. 4.50 crore for replacing damaged drinking water distribution pipelines in New Haridwar Model Colony and Govindpuri.
These initiatives are expected to improve access to safe drinking water and enhance civic amenities for residents.
Modern Laboratories for Better Water Quality Monitoring
To strengthen water quality testing, the state government has sanctioned Rs. 2.54 crore for procuring Automatic Analyzer Systems for district-level laboratories in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions.
The advanced equipment will enable faster and more accurate testing, improving monitoring capabilities across the state.
River Rejuvenation and Environmental Conservation
The government has also allocated significant funds for restoring river ecosystems.
The sanctioned projects include the following:
- Rs. 6.02 crore for the rejuvenation and treatment of the Gadool River, a tributary of the Soung River in Dehradun district.
- Rs. 4.17 crore for the rejuvenation and treatment of the Kamal Ganga River in Uttarkashi district.
These projects are aimed at improving water flow, restoring ecological balance, and supporting long-term environmental sustainability.
Religious and Educational Infrastructure
Additional funds have been approved for tourism, religious sites, and educational infrastructure, including:
- Rs. 74.38 lakh for development and protective works at Okhaldunga Lake in Champawat.
- Rs. 56.51 lakh for beautification of the newly constructed Durga Temple in Bengali Colony, Nanakmatta.
- Rs. 72.83 lakh for constructing a dharamshala at the Maa Mangla Bhagwati Mata Temple complex in Seraghat, Almora.
- Rs. 53.18 lakh for constructing a boundary wall at Lala Om Prakash Gyandeep Girls Inter College in Haridwar to improve campus safety and infrastructure.
The latest approvals reflect the state government’s continued emphasis on infrastructure development, environmental protection, and public welfare across Uttarakhand.
