New Delhi, July 9 (APAC Media): The Delhi Government has launched a series of technology-driven education initiatives under the Saksham programme, aimed at improving learning outcomes, promoting student well-being, and preparing students for future careers.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the new initiatives, which include AI-enabled school infrastructure, STEM education, digital classrooms, and comprehensive health programmes for students across government schools.
AI Smart Toilets and STEM Labs Introduced
As part of the programme, the government inaugurated India’s first AI-integrated Smart School Toilets at a government school in Shalimar Bagh.
The initiative also marks the launch of STEM Innovation Labs in all Delhi Government schools, providing students with hands-on exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
In addition, schools will be equipped with modern computer laboratories and smart digital classrooms to strengthen technology-enabled learning.
Focus on Student Health
The Saksham programme also places emphasis on student health and well-being.
Around 3,000 girl students will benefit from a range of health interventions, including medical check-ups, eye screening, free spectacles where required, deworming, and menstrual hygiene awareness and training.
The initiatives are being implemented in partnership with the Ladli Foundation.
Students Selected for US Space Programme
The Delhi Government also announced that the top five performers from the STEM Innovation Labs have been selected to participate in the prestigious United States Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) Space Science Programme in the United States.
The government will bear the full cost of their visit, including airfare, as part of its efforts to encourage scientific learning and global exposure among students.
The Saksham programme is expected to strengthen access to quality education, promote innovation, and support the holistic development of students across Delhi’s government schools.
