Agartala, August 14 (APAC Media): Salesforce and the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, have announced a collaboration to expand access to digital skills and strengthen workforce readiness across the state.
Announced at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 in Agartala, the initiative supports Tripura’s wider digital transformation efforts. It will use Trailhead, Salesforce’s online learning platform, to help students, young people, government employees, and entrepreneurs develop skills needed for an increasingly AI-driven economy.
The programme aims to reach more than 10,000 learners by 2027.
Focus on practical, future-ready skills
Through the initiative, participants will have access to self-paced learning programmes designed for beginner and intermediate learners. The courses will cover areas such as customer relationship management (CRM), business analysis, technology fundamentals, and other digital skills.
Salesforce will also provide online orientation resources to help participants understand and use the Trailhead platform and support them through their learning journey.
DIT will identify potential participants through government departments, educational institutions and skill development agencies. It will also help create awareness about the programme and expand access to learners across Tripura.
Supporting Tripura’s digital growth
The collaboration builds on the state’s ongoing efforts in digital governance, innovation, and entrepreneurship. By expanding access to technology education, the initiative aims to support the development of a skilled workforce and contribute to inclusive digital growth.
Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura, said, “Our partnership with Salesforce marks a key milestone in Tripura’s digital journey. With strong policy foundations already in place, this collaboration will equip our students, government workforce, and entrepreneurs with future-ready digital skills, driving innovation and inclusive growth. We look forward to working with a global technology leader to build a self-sustaining IT ecosystem and empower Tripura’s workforce to realise its full potential.”
Arundhati Bhattacharya, President and CEO, Salesforce – South Asia, said, “India’s next wave of digital growth will be shaped by talent in every part of the country. Tripura’s focus on building skills alongside digital infrastructure is essential to making that growth inclusive. Through Trailhead, we are proud to help make practical learning more accessible and support students, government employees, and entrepreneurs as they build capabilities for a rapidly changing economy.”
