New Delhi, October 21(APAC Media): Abhishek Gupta has joined Akasa Air as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). He joins the airline after leaving Dish TV India, where he led the company’s IT function.
His exit from Dish TV took effect on August 31, 2026. He joined the company in 2015 as Vice President of IT and became Corporate Head of IT in 2019.
During his time at Dish TV, Gupta worked on IT modernization, cloud adoption and digital transformation. His role also covered the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology infrastructure to support the company’s digital operations.
Abhishek Gupta’s Technology Career
He has more than 20 years of experience in IT architecture, technology operations and digital strategy. Before joining Dish TV, he held technology and management roles at Orange Business Services, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Ericsson.
He holds a management degree from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and an engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering.
Gupta Takes Charge Of Akasa Air IT
At Akasa Air, Gupta will lead the airline’s information technology function as it expands its operations and digital platforms. His experience in cloud systems, enterprise IT and digital transformation will be relevant to areas such as airline technology infrastructure and customer-facing digital services.
The appointment marks Gupta’s move from the media and broadcasting sector to aviation technology, adding another senior IT leadership role to his career.
