Vadodara, September 21 (APAC Media): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday inaugurated development projects and laid foundation stones for new works worth nearly Rs 1,297 crore in Vadodara district.
The projects were launched at a programme held at Trimandir in Varnama and involve works across multiple state departments and civic agencies .
Gambhira-Mujpur Bridge Among Key Inaugurations
One of the major projects inaugurated was the new Gambhira-Mujpur bridge over the Mahi River, connecting Vadodara and Anand districts.
The new bridge replaces the earlier structure that collapsed in July 2025 and was constructed in about a year. The project cost was reported at around Rs 212 crore in detailed project reports.
Patel also inaugurated the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sankalp Bhoomi Memorial, built at a cost of around Rs 28.59 crore. The complex includes a museum, auditorium, library and multimedia, and digital exhibition facilities.
A Zonal Observation Home for children was also dedicated. Built at a cost of Rs 8.35 crore, the facility has a capacity of 50 children and includes a computer laboratory, library, health services and yoga facilities.
Projects Spread Across Departments
According to project-wise figures presented at the programme, foundation stones were laid for works worth Rs 676.68 crore, while projects worth around Rs 352 crore were inaugurated.
Vadodara Municipal Corporation projects accounted for about Rs 441.42 crore, while Panchayat Department works were valued at around Rs 408.87 crore. GETCO projects accounted for about Rs 106 crore.
Other projects involve departments including Social Justice and Empowerment, Labour, Skill Development and Employment, Roads and Buildings, and Planning.
During the programme, Patel also highlighted welfare initiatives including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Har Ghar Jal and Ayushman Bharat.
The projects form part of the Gujarat Government’s ongoing development works across Vadodara district.
