Chandigarh: The Haryana Government approved a bill that mandates private sector companies to reserve 75% of jobs with a salary up to Rs 50,000 for people of Haryana. Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya has given assent to the Bill providing 75 per cent reservation in the private sector to job seekers from the state, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The legislation was passed by the state Assembly in 2020 and the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana Dushyant Chautala made an announcement on Tuesday. He added, “The youth will get 75% reservation in every company, society, and trust.”
It may be noted that it was the main election promise of providing reservations in private sector jobs for locals. The highlights of the bill tabled by the Dushyant Chautala in 2020 include the private sector companies to reserve 75% of the jobs with a salary up to 50,000 for the people of the state. It also states that there is a clause for companies to invoke in case they are not able to find suitable candidates. In this case, the company can hire from outside as long as they inform the government of such a step.
The companies must register the details of the employees getting Rs. 50,000 per month and in case they fail to do so within three months, it will attract penalties.
