In an exclusive discussion with Rajneesh De, Consulting Editor, APAC News Network, Rachitta Juneja talks about how the app allows the drivers to earn through multiple streams by delivering food, grocery, medicines and personal parcels and do offline shopping for their fixed customers.
What was the story behind the genesis of WHIDE?
We had realized only 4-5 companies were ruling this space. Earlier, when companies were growing, partners were growing with them. Today, they are worth billions of dollars, but their partners cannot even make their ends meet now. The big corporations wanted to eliminate the middleman. Instead, they became the middle man.
So, we wanted to be the change agent. With this vision, WHIDE started the first Ride & Delivery App to empower businesses without levying heavy commissions that kill businesses and their margins. Whide’s vision is “Creation Belongs Equally to everyone”.
The Bhagavat Gita says, “We didn’t create anything. Nothing belongs to us. We are part of creation, and everything else is part of creation. No idea is original. It is just a mix of existing ideas. If someone tries to take a part of creation and claims it as their own, they are not living the truth.”
Can you elaborate about the investors and funding?
WHIDE is currently bootstrapped. The approximate investment into the business till date has been Rs 3.2 crores.
What are WHIDE’s unique differentiators over other cab/transportation apps?
WHIDE is a Subscription-based Mobile App and Web Platform for individuals and enterprises, which enables them to directly do business with their customers. For our end customers, like you and me, WHIDE is a Single app for Ride, Hire-Driver, Self-Drive, Parcel & Food Delivery & Shopping.
What are the salient online and offline features of WHIDE and what are their benefits?
I would like to highlight the following salient features:
- Make your Favourite Drivers
- No-Surge Pricing
- Low cancellations
- Female Trust Rating
- GPS, DashCam Monitored Vehicles
- Lower Price (10-15% and sometimes 150% in case of Surge Pricing)
In addition, WHIDE’s
- offline shopping feature allows customers to shop from their favourite store by sending a trusted person on their behalf
- Anything from anywhere, pickup and drop is available
- For every 10,000 km one complete via the WHIDE, platform, they will donate a wheelchair on behalf of that person
- The app allows the drivers to earn through multiple streams by delivering food, grocery, medicines and personal parcels and do offline shopping for their fixed customers
What is the business model and the GTM strategy followed by WHIDE?
WHIDE has a primarily SAAS & Subscription business model. We are following the beachhead strategy in Gurgaon, and will expand to Delhi NCR shortly. We are doing a lot of innovation in branding, guerrilla marketing and that has given phenomenal growth in Gurgaon.
How did the app help the drivers generate revenues?
The partner app is Subscription based. For instance, today on 100000, they make 70000 with competitors, with WHIDE they will make 90000 for the same amount of work.
