DRDO Dare to Dream 3.0: Rs 5 Lakh Cash Prize Announced

DRDO Dare to Dream 3.0 contest has been announced for individuals and start-ups as a tribute to the visionary, the legendary former President and eminent scientist, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has stated that the third edition has been announced as the second edition of the competition was a “massive success”.

“The Contest is being launched for promoting research in various fields of emerging technologies in order to promote both individuals and startups for the creation of innovation in the defence and aerospace technologies in the country for realizing the vision of an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ given by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,” says DRDO.

List of Areas for DRDO Dare to Dream 3.0 Innovation Challenge

Individuals and start-ups may choose from the following topics to take part in the competition:

• Remote detection and protection of CBRNE agents.
• Development of underwater communication system.
• Smart batteries and self-healing batteries for military applications.
• Defence on cloud (blockchain technology, IoT, ML, AI).
• Cognitive technologies for sensing and adaptation.
• Shockwave applications for defence.
• Innovative ideas for anti drone.
• Technology ideas for soldiers as a system.
• Non-line of sight optical imaging.
• Open category: Exploring the unthinkable and unimaginable.

Important Details of the DRDO Dare to Dream 3.0 Innovation Challenge

• Interested participants will have submit online applications from 4 October to 1 December 2021.
• Applications to be submitted either in individual or start-up category.
• Maximum of 4 members including one defined Team leader can participate under individual category.
• An individual having start-up may apply in the capacity of Individual as well as Start-up, and applications can be submitted for not more than five areas of the challenge.

Prize Money for the DRDO Dare to Dream 3.0 Innovation Challenge

The prize money allotted for startups is 10 lakhs for first place, 8 lakhs for second place and 6 lakhs for third place. As far as individual winners are concerned, the prize money allotted is 5 lakhs for first place, 4 lakhs for second place and 3 lakhs for third place.
