Kharagpur: IIT Kharagpur is currently accepting enrolments for a free online course on Introduction to Internet of Things that can be taken up by students and professionals. The course provides as understanding of Internet of Things to participants as the government, academia, and industry are involved in different aspects of research, implementation, and business with IoT. It is important to learn the underlying fundamentals of this technology as IoT-based applications such as innovative shopping system, infrastructure management in both urban and rural areas, remote health monitoring and emergency notification systems, and transportation systems, are gradually relying on IoT based systems, says the NPTEL website where this course is being offered for free.
The course is being conducted by Dr. Sudip Misra who is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada.
