ISRO free online course on geo-data sharing and cybersecurity has been announced for working professionals
Another ISRO free online course has been announced by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Dehradun. As part of its outreach program, IIRS often conducts Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) on Remote Sensing and Geoinformation Science. As far as this course is concerned, IIRS says that the institute is taking its pioneering steps towards cybersecurity by starting this interdisciplinary course for cybersecurity and cyber defense of critical infrastructures and deo-data sharing.
The course will offer both theoretical as well as use cases on how cyber defense and awareness technology can be effectively applied to better understand and manage against cyber threats. Working professionals from Central and State governments can take part in the course. Certificates will be offered to candidates with 70 percent attendance.
What the ISRO Free Online Course on Cybersecurity Will Cover?
The main aim of the course is to research, educate, train and also spawn startups in remote sensing data and geo-informatics and create technological safeguards to protect critical infrastructure, says IIRS. Some of the topics that will be covered as part of the course are as follows:
- Overview of cybersecurity: Threats and challenges.
- Software tools and products for secure data and information access.
- Safe transactions and data accessing in web and mobile applications.
- Best practices for cybersecurity.
- Online geo-data sharing and cybersecurity.
Important Details of the Free Online Course on Cybersecurity
The course will be conducted from 17 to 21 October 2022, and there is no course fee for attending the program. Interested and eligible candidates will have to fill and submit the form on the official website for getting the registration number. Applicants will then have to wait for approval mail and login credentials from IIRS. Post approval, applicants can then log into the IIRS Edusat platform to take the course.
