Jammu: IPS Chandan Kohli has been appointed the Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on the basis of central deputation. He has been serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police in Jammu.
Kohli belongs to the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, from the 2013 batch. He will be serving in this post for a period of 4 years.
“The competent authority has approved the appointment of Chandan Kohli, (IPS of AGMUT Cadre 2013) as Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat on deputation basis,” read a notice issued by the Centre.
It is believed that during Kohli’s tenure, the crime graph of Jammu saw a steady decline. Kohli’s current post will be assumed by IPS Vinod Kumar, who has been appointed the new SSP of Jammu.
