Bengaluru: IAS Rajneesh Goel, from the 1986 batch, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Karnataka. The State government recently finalised this decision through an official order, designating Goel in this post. He is currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Home Department.
Goel will transition into his new role on November 30, following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Secretary, Vandita Sharma, who is set to superannuate. The State Cabinet had conferred Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with the authority to select the succeeding Chief Secretary, leading to the appointment of Goel to this administrative position.
Upon assuming office, Goel will become the 40th Chief Secretary of Karnataka, succeeding Vandita Sharma. Notably, Goel’s spouse, Shalini Rajneesh, is also a distinguished IAS officer, currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary.
