New Delhi: IAS Palka Sahni was recently appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals. Her overall tenure spans a period of five years, up to April 2, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved her appointment on November 20, 2023.
Palka Sahni is an IAS officer of the 2004 batch from the Bihar cadre, with 17 years of experience in policy formulation, public administration and the energy sector. Prior to this posting, she was the Resident Commissioner of Bihar Bhawan, New Delhi.
She has formerly served as the Executive Director of Power Finance Corporation Limited, the Director in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, and as the Managing Director of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.
