New Delhi: IAS Sanjay Jaju recently assumed the position of Secretary of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, transitioning from his previous role as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production.
Jaju belongs to the 1992 batch of the IAS from the Telangana cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, qualifications as a Cost & Management Accountant, and an MBA in Finance.
Throughout his career, Jaju has made significant contributions across various sectors, including urban development, infrastructure, civil supplies, education, and tribal welfare. His advocacy for leveraging information technology for developmental and governance purposes has been evident, notably in his tenure with the Department of Defence Production (DDP).
Jaju spearheaded the establishment of iDEX (Innovation for Defence Excellence), an ecosystem dedicated to fostering innovation and technology development in the realm of defence and aerospace. iDEX is funded and managed by the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), a non-profit entity established under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013.
