New Delhi: IAS officer Abhishek Bhagotia has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Lokpal division of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). He is a 2007 batch officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Bhagotia’s appointment comes as he succeeds IRPS officer Navin Agarwal.
Bhagotia’s tenure in this position will span five years, effective immediately upon his assumption of office, until April 3, 2027. He has previously served in several roles, such as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, as the Director in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and as the Commissioner in the Commercial Taxes Department.
