Bengaluru: Lam Research Corporation is boosting India’s semiconductor industry by donating about $29 million (Rs 241 crore) in software licenses to 2,800 students over the next two years. On Monday, Lam announced signing a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to help roll out Semiverse Solutions.
Semiverse Solutions is a program that includes virtual technology, processing and simulations. It’s a platform for learning and collaboration that cuts costs and reduces carbon footprint.
Under this agreement, ISM will aid in setting up infrastructure and covering operational expenses. IISc will train instructors at selected universities, and Lam will provide a team of employees to assist in the program’s expansion all over the nation.
